Ubuntu Guitarfest 2019.

The first edition of Ubuntu Guitarfest opened with a concert by Jure Cerkovnik, a young Slovenian guitarist, while Goran Krivokapić, a world-renowned Montenegrin guitarist, performed on the second evening in the Banski dvor concert hall. The festival program also included a concert by the young guitarist from Banja Luka, Boris Popović, a first-year student at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, as well as the winners of five categories of the first Ubuntu competition, students of primary and secondary music schools.

Professor and guitarist Darko Karajić held a lecture on early music and its performance today, which is of great importance for young guitarists and their performance progress. Masterclasses were held by renowned professors from Montenegro, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina: Goran Krivokapić, Jure Cerkovnik, Zoran Krajišnik, Darko Karajić, Medina Arnautović, Belma Tuzović-Mujkić, Stevan Jović, Sandra Santrač, Igor Motl. Luthier Zoran Kuvač, held a presentation of his latest instruments, handmade guitars made in Banja Luka. 

The festival gathered young talented guitarists, pupils, students and their professors from BiH, Slovenia and Croatia, eager for knowledge and advancement.
